How Does the Scheme Work?

According to the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, close to 39.72 lakh rooftop solar systems had been installed across the country as of 22 July 2026. Out of these, around 18.93 lakh families now have an electricity bill close to zero. That is not a typo. Zero. Their homes now run on sunshine instead of monthly bills.
